Memories

Memories is a set of four songs for voice and piano, inspired by people the composer knows or knew personally (including two of her own grandchildren). The songs include a Christmas lullaby, a heartfelt love song, a tribute to a wonderful musician who died young and a tender evocation of times past for a friend who was suffering from Alzheimers when the song was written. Each piece has a distinct character and would work well in a recital or for special occasions where the words might seem appropriate.
